In one line
Hokboek keeps your loft book on your phone and nowhere else. There is no account, no server, no analytics and nothing to collect, because the app never sends anything anywhere.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — your birds, their pedigrees, races, results, training tosses and care notes — is written to a set of files inside the app's own local storage on your device. Hokboek has no server, no backend and no network connection of any kind. It works exactly the same with the phone in airplane mode as it does with a full signal, because it never asks for one.
What the app does not do
- No account, sign-in or personal profile of any kind.
- No analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs of any kind, and no advertising.
- No tracking of you or your device, and no data shared with anyone for tracking.
- No location services — the loft position is a place you type, not a place the phone measures.
- No pools, stakes or payment processing. Hokboek never handles money.
- No data is sold, rented or shared with third parties. There are no third parties in the picture: no cloud storage, no ad network, no analytics vendor.
Camera and photo library
Hokboek asks for camera access only when you choose to photograph a bird or its ring card, and for photo library access only when you choose to pick an existing picture for that same purpose. Either permission is requested at the moment you use that specific feature, never in advance. The resulting photo is saved to that bird's page in your local loft book and is not read, scanned or transmitted for any other purpose.
Notifications
Hokboek can remind you locally about an approaching basketing deadline, the moment your first bird might be nearing home, and any care note you have dated for that day. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your device by iOS itself. Hokboek does not use a push notification service, and no message, token or identifier is ever sent off the device to make a reminder happen.
Exporting your own book
Settings lets you export your loft book as a single file, and a race result can be shared as an image, both through Apple's standard share sheet. That action is entirely yours to start and direct — to Messages, Mail, Files, AirDrop or anywhere else you choose — and Hokboek itself never sends this file anywhere on its own.
Children
Hokboek is a record-keeping tool for pigeon fanciers and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information at all.
Deleting your data
Because everything lives only inside the app's own storage on your device, deleting Hokboek deletes your loft book with it. Inside the app, Settings also offers "Start an empty book" to clear your data while keeping the app installed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this same address with an updated date at the top.
